Sports Day
Sports Day is a day of the national holidays.
Originally October 10th was Sports Day. But now this day is a second Monday in October. October 10th was the opening day of the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.so this day became sports day.
Why was the opening day of the Tokyo Olympic Games October 10th?
There is a strong probability that October 10th is fine day. This day is almost a fine days. Many schools in Japan hold an athletic meeting on this day. Main competitions in this meeting are Tunahiki, Tamaire and Relay. Tunahiki is a competition that many people pull a rope with each other. Tamaire is a competition that many people throw red or white balls into same color basket.
If red bolls in basket are more than white balls, a red team wins. In athletic meeting we can see crying children, parents taking pictures of it, and these children and parents eat a lunch together.
The Japanese have such good image about Sports Day. So we love and looking forward to Sports Day.
